Russian bank rejects loan over smiley face signature:
A Russian man was turned down for a loan from his bank in Moscow after he used a smiley face symbol for his signature on the paperwork. Vladimir Kirlov, 34, said:
'It's been accepted in my passport and on my ID card - I don't see why the bank won't accept it.'
But Oleg Pavlovich, a spokesman for the bank, said: 'A smiley is a drawing and not a signature.'
He should sue. via
